Cargo worthy means the container still meets the standard for international freight: no holes, no structural damage, sound floor, doors that seal and swing properly. What it does have is age — surface rust, patchy paint, dents in the panels, and sometimes a repair plate or two.
For storage, none of that matters. For a conversion where you’re painting anyway, it’s the sensible buy.
